Important update effective immediately: The Louisiana ATC has changed how Responsible Vendor (RV) server permits are delivered. Students can no longer download or print their bar card from the ATC website. Your official permit will now be sent directly to your email address.

How You Now Receive Your Louisiana Bar Card

After completing your ATC-approved Responsible Vendor training with ABSEC and passing the exam, here is the new process:

  1. Complete your course and pass the exam — you receive an immediate ABSEC completion certificate as proof of training.
  2. ABSEC submits your roster to the ATC within 10 days of your course date. Your submission includes your name, date of birth, mailing address, email address, and course date.
  3. The ATC reviews and approves your roster — allow up to 5 business days after ABSEC submits.
  4. Your official RV bar card is emailed to you — the ATC sends a digital copy of your permit directly to the email address you provided at enrollment.

Use a valid, personal email address when you enroll. The ATC will only deliver your permit to the email address on file. Double-check it during signup — an incorrect email address will delay your permit. Do not use your employer's email address.

Your Immediate Proof of Completion

As soon as you pass the ABSEC exam you receive an immediate ABSEC completion certificate. This serves as your temporary proof of certification while your official ATC bar card is being processed. Most employers accept this completion certificate while the official permit is in transit.

Can Employers Still Verify My Bar Card?

Yes. The ATC Responsible Vendor lookup system at atc.louisiana.gov is still active. Employers can search for your certification status by name and date of birth. Your record will appear once ATC has processed your roster submission.
