Section 14:1. – Annual permits required for dealers in alcoholic beverages; license fee.

A.

In addition to all other licenses and excise taxes imposed in other ordinances of the mayor and board of aldermen, there is hereby levied an annual license tax upon each and every person, association, firm, or corporation engaged in the business of dealing in beer, port, ale, wine, alcoholic or intoxicating beverages or liquor in the city, subject to license under Section 8, Article X, of the Louisiana Constitution of 1921, which annual license tax shall be two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00).

B.

There is hereby imposed a fee for permits for dealers of beverages of alcoholic content of less than six (6) percent of one hundred dollars (0.00) per year for a wholesale dealer’s permit, seventy-five dollars (.00) per year for a Class A retail dealer’s permit, and sixty dollars (.00) per year for a Class B retail dealer’s permit.

Section 14:21. – Hours of operation restricted.

No owners or operators of bars, saloons having liquor or other establishments having liquor or beer permits and/or other persons, firms or corporations engaged in such businesses shall open such businesses or permit same to remain open after 12:30 a.m. of every day of the week, and shall not open such places until 5:00 a.m., except that on Fridays and Saturdays such hours shall be 2:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. This section precludes the dispensing of alcoholic beverages during those hours.
