Sec. 6-6. Hours of sale; alcoholic beverage outlet.

(a)    It shall be unlawful to sell or offer for sale at retail, or to give away, in or upon any licensed premises, any alcoholic beverages between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. of any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, nor between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. of any Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday. Holidays are defined to include the day preceding the day of the holiday: New Year’s Day, Mardi Gras, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

(b)   It shall be unlawful for the holder of any permit or the operator of any alcoholic beverage outlet to permit anyone to consume or possess any alcoholic beverage on the premises during the restricted hours defined above. For the purposes of this section, the term “premises” shall include not only the building in which the alcoholic beverage outlet is located, but also the area immediately outside of the building and the entire parking lot area. Within 30 minutes after the time of prohibited sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages as stipulated in this section, it shall be unlawful for holder of any permit to keep such premises open for business, or to permit the consumption of alcoholic beverages in or upon such premises.
